I remember going to Ocean Park in Hongkong before and watched a lot of sea creatures inside an aquarium. I had lots of fun then, there were lot’s of performances you may see. So when my mom ask me if I wan’t to go with her to their company outing I gladly join. It’s time for some Ocean Adventure ^_^
Ocean Adventure is located in Subic , 1-2 hours travel from Manila. It’s an open-water marine park where animals live and play. Some of the animals were rescued from the forest and were taken cared by the patrols.
Since it was like a field trip, I think the organizer availed a group package.
The Park Rates:
Here’s joyce (tour guide) explaining to us what we are going to do and what are we expecting to see.
After the orientation, first stop is Ocean Discovery Aquarium. To tell you honestly nothing much to see but the tour guide already warned us that it’s not as big as ocean park and there were only a few fishes to see.
Bright colors! Strange shapes! Mysterious creatures! Welcome to the World of Discovery Aquarium. Immerse yourself in the fascinating waters of Subic Bay and the South China Sea – without getting wet! Inside our air conditioned aquarium explore habitats and the amazing animals that live in them – fresh water streams, mangrove forests, coral reefs and deep dark caves. Discover actions you can take to protect these fragile marine environments. (source: Ocean Adventure site)
Second stop is The Adventures of Olongapo Jones show. I had fun watching because it was entertaining. It feels like I was a kid again.
The Adventures of Olongapo Jones is the newest show in Ocean Adventure ‘s line up of top rated entertainment. This high energy show follows Olongapo Jones and his Eco-Rangers, Pawee and Leila, as they track down the Bouncing Basura Boys, a gang of eco-bandits who leave a trail of cut down trees and discarded trash in their wake. Featuring the Ocean Adventure mascots and high flying trampoline acrobats, the Adventures of Olongapo Jones is non-stop action, humor, and excitement that guests of all ages are sure to enjoy. Learning while having fun is the best way to deliver environmental education, and that makes this show a perfect addition to our popular school programs. (source: Ocean Adventure site)
Third stop is Dolphin Friends Show. Well nothing beats dolphins and whales doing such amazing stunts.
Enjoy our dolphin friends in their lovely lagoon by the rain forest. Learn about these fascinating animals, while being thrilled by their grace, agility, power, and intelligence. This presentation is packed with action, smiles, interesting information, and an important conservation message. (source: Ocean Adventure site)
Fourth stop is Walk on the Wild Side Show. Animals here are rescued from the wild. I wonder how can they make those animals follow them. The girl who host the show is really good, it’s like I’m watching a kid show.
Move from sea to land and take a Walk on the Wild Side. Our show begins with a demonstration by the local indigenous Aetas and their amazing ability to light a fire without matches, and to create a variety of utensils from bamboo. Walk on the Wild Side then transports guests into the forest at night, where we meet a variety of birds, bats, mammals, and reptiles. The Eco-Theater is the site for this entertaining show featuring animals from the Wildife in Need Rescue Center. As always, Walk on the Wild Side features our signature brand of environmental education. (source: Ocean Adventure site)
Fifth stop is Sea Lion Marine Patrol Show. I had good laughs on this show, although I feel a little pity to the sea lion because she’s already blind and looks old.
Come on down to the Nautilus Theater and meet our South American sea lions. This delightful show, perfect for all ages, shows you what it takes to be a member of the Sea Lion Marine Patrol. It’s filled with lots of action, and a strong environmental message. In between the laughter and fun, there’s a lot to be learned! (source: Ocean Adventure site)
The Ocean Adventure park is not as big as I’ve seen in HK but the performances they showed were very entertaining. I’m sure kids as well as adults would surely enjoy here.
